Rehab Day One...

How grateful I feel for the power of prayer faith, fasting and priesthood blessings. I want to express profound gratitude for the thousands who are praying for our beloved husband, father, grandpa, friend, faithful servant. We are truly being watched over and I'm feeling sweet tender mercies from the Lord daily. Our first day in rehab Kevin had experienced some good progress. The OT and PT have seen his determined spirit and hard work ethic. They both used some electrical neuro stimulation. Video of arm movements follows. I told him his new nickname from the grandkids would be grandpa robot. He just smiled. He's anxious and always ready for the next therapy session. PT walked him about a total of 600 feet today in 2 sessions also stairs in the rehab gym. I took him on a little field trip outside around the campus and he really enjoyed that. We bumped into beloved neighbor Bobbie Rammel and Patty coming out of the heart institute! Another tender mercy. We checked out the cafeteria and patio and he declared it beautiful ❤️His spirits are good, he is Kevin❤️ Speech therapist asked if he was worried about his recovery his reply was no. Just his family. Trusting in the healing powers of heaven and the gift of the Saviors atonement always. Make that 1100 feet total today and also the steps in the rehab gym. Moving on up!
Keep those prayers coming our way.   Love, Cindy
Enjoying the Ensign.

Negotiating the stairs with PT!
We had a great walk around the campus, skies are blue, sun is bright. His longest sentence so far, "You are beautiful and you are by my side and you make me happy."

  1. Thank you for making this blog! We have all been so concerned. I bug Lacy everyday for updates on how things are going and now I don't have to! Thrilled for the entire Miyasaki clan that Kevin is recovering so quickly. We'll keep praying for continued healing and know that Heavenly Father's hand is over all things. Keep the updates coming and send Kevin our love!
